Barefoot Walking
The idea of walking or running barefoot is both a new and old concept depending upon where you live. In the western world it is believed that protecting and cushioning the feet will bring about greater comfort and health. In India, China and Mexico to name a few, this is how these people maintain healthy feet that contribute to the ease in which they do great amounts of movement/work each day to live. A new wave of barefooters and solid research is challenging the medical establishment. As a physical therapist and movement specialist, I use barefoot running and walking as a healing tool in my work.
