In the past she competed in triathlons and marathons and became interested in exercise physiology and physical therapy. As one of Texas' top female triathletes and a yoga teacher, McCall was battling her own injuries and realized she couldn't treat an injury without addressing the whole body in the real world, outside of therapy. She began to approach physical therapy in a different way. Wanting to broaden her perspective of movement as a therapy tool, she studied the science and history of movement.
McCall soon realized the way she approached physical therapy was both radically different and very effective, and decided to write a book. "The McCall Body Balance Method, Simple Concepts for Ageless Movement" was published in 2001. The McCall Method is a scientifically researched approach to moving as naturally as a child. She teaches how to alleviate pain by becoming comfortable in everyday movements, and directly applies her lessons to your life. "Your bigger life" she says. Drawing from any and every movement form she creates new healing moves that apply to individual needs and interests so you can move WAY beyond pain. A little belly dance move can enhance a golf swing. Learning a few dance steps can improve ankle -foot coordination for runners and basketball players. "It's all movement... I just borrow from one form and apply it to another, that's why healing is truly a creative act."
