Ira

Getting things right is what keeps Ira's life going smoothly. He likes being able to go from work to the golf course without a glitch. In 1985, Ira had a big glitch that sent his back into spasms and him to the hospital. These back-spasm episodes did not stop although their severity lessened, and after a few years he was just tired of it.

Traditional physical therapy had not helped. In January 1997, Ira joined my Body Balance classes. He practiced diligently. Like any golfer, he knew all about practice and wanted a good back to go with his golf swing. Ira does not have a lot of flexibility but this isn't as vital as many golfers think. However, some of his joints did need to move more, and as Ira said: "You taught me how to bend from the hips and keep the v' in my back" (the natural lumbar arch).

It took some time to get back the natural motion in his hips and spine so he could bend with ease, but he claims this knowledge, and correct postures, contributed to the success he still has three years later.

As a golfer, Ira knows that a good setup generates a good swing. Now he also knows a good Body Balance posture setup gives him a great pain-free swing. Ira incorporates Body Balance into his way of life. He spends much time at his desk, but his new way of living at his desk helps his performance on the golf course. Ira plans to play golf longer and if he continues to integrate Body Balance principles, he knows he can only get better.
